rest day and call
Made it to Laiya (sp?) for rest and adjusting to altitude. Going up from here. Feet are ok, have to watch every step, don't get to look around much except when you take a break. About 11 bumblebars left, doling them out. Borrowed a sat. phone to call out, all is well but the expedition phone is out of batteries so probably no more contact until the end. Guide says good karma so the weather will probably be good for the rest of the trek! Many stories when I return. Best to all. SS for SS

We had alot of fun on our trip to Mossback Amelia, except the whole a whole bunch of walking part. I hated the part when we had to carry the hay bail up the hill, even though I only carried it like a forth of the way. But besidees taht, it wass fun!:))))
Your expedition sounds absolutely wonderful but it seems a little hard to accomplish. Just be careful and have a great time.

Mrs. Durbin's all right, but she's just not you. So it's still taking a while to get comfortable with a 2-month sub. We all just really want Thanksgiving to come. Plus, we all really really miss you! Stay safe, come back alive. Our thoughts (and prayers) are with you!

I have been thinking of you daily and know your doing great! Hopefully your gathering lots of science for your students that miss you sooo much....their posts are hilarious! What has the weather been like? We had a beautiful Indian summer but today the cold, wind & rain came. Our marathon went well, Mary & Barb ran a 4:03, Terri ran a 4:13 & I ran a 4:28. The weather was perfect and we had a fun wknd & it was great to see Melissa. I'm not doing the relay tmrw, my team disbanned so I signed up for the great turtle 1/2 next weekend. Annie & Vicki have trained well and are ready for the relay but the weather won't be nice. We are keeping the pavement warm for you on Wednesday's and can't wait for you to get back. I think you're about 2/3 through the trek and it won't be long before Sam joins you:) Be safe wih your travels and I look forward to an update! Annie says hello & we miss you! Love Ruth xoxo
